      THE IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON COFFEE

Global warming and unpredictable weather can affect coffee quality and yields, putting the futures of coffee and coffee farmers at risk. The area suitable for coffee production could be cut in half by 2050.

The Nespresso regenerative farming transition is anchored in four key principles.

COMMITTED TO NET ZERO BY 2050 AT THE LATEST

Achieving carbon-neutral certification for every cup of coffee in 2022 has enabled us to understand the scale of the challenge. Reaching net zero, even as our business grows, demands bold action. By 2030, we plan to reduce our GHG emissions by 50%*. Making collective efforts to transition AAA farmers to regenerative agricultural practices is a critical priority. Against the 2018 baseline, through reduction and insetting actions even as our company grows.

AND THE RAINFOREST ALLIANCE

Co-developed with a community of global partners and coffee experts, The Rainforest Alliance Regenerative Coffee Scorecard measures the adoption rates of regenerative practices by coffee farmers and their impact on five key areas.
